Procerin Review: Does Procerin Work?

Procerin is an “all-natural” product that is used to inhibit DHT production, in turn slowing or stopping hair loss. It is considered all natural, because it is made up of vitamins, minerals, and herbs instead of chemicals. The active ingredients are Saw Palmetto, Gotu Kola and Nettles, which are known to inhibit the DHT production, without affecting testosterone. For this reason, there should not be any sexual side effects. It is recommended for men with either a receding hairline or thinning hair as a result of hereditary hair loss. What are the possible side effects?
The most likely side effects include a sore stomach, mild dizziness, vomiting, constipation, or diarrhea. In a nutshell, Procerin is a hard on the stomach, so should always be taken with food.  There are no other official side effects.

Does it work?
According to Procerin, they performed an in-depth study, and 90% were at least somewhat satisfied with the results. However, it was a fairly small study of only 32 people, which is hardly enough to give an accurate portrayal whether it is effective.

Propecia Review: Does Propecia Work?

Propecia has become one of the most popular hair growth products available today. The active ingredient is Finasteride, and it is taken in pill form. Its main use is to stop hair loss in its tracks, although some men have reported hair growth after using it. The cost is about $60 for 30 tablets, which last for one month. Similar to most hair loss treatments, including the popular Rogaine, Propecia is used to combat hair loss on the top and middle front of the head. It is not proven to work for hair loss at the temples.

What are the possible side effects?
Some of the possible side effects include symptoms of an allergic reactions, which can include rashes, itchiness, or hives. There are a variety of sexual side effects, such as lower sex drive, decrease in amount of semen, lower sperm count, and difficulty with ejaculation. Also possible are breast tenderness and enlargement. Acne is a non official side effect that, meaning it is not listed by Propecia as a side effect, but some men have claimed to experience it as a result of the treatment. All noted side effects are generally temporary and should stop once the medication is no longer taken.

Does it work?
Propecia has claimed to do various tests, and the results came in after a 5 year study that 90% of men either regrew hair or experienced no further hair loss. Of those 90%, 48% had hair regrowth, and 42% no longer experienced hair loss. Users started to see a difference after 3-12 months. These are promising results, and if you ask men who have used the product, the most common answer is that it did work for them, at least on some level.

The bad news is the possible side effects. Propecia claims that only 3% experienced side effects during the study. The most common problems are low sex drive and difficulty ejaculating, but there have also been some cases where couples have problems getting pregnant due to a much lower sperm count in the man´s semen. These side effects usually subside once the man stops taking the drug.

What´s the low-down?
Propecia is an FDA approved hair growth product that is proven to work in most cases. Although some of the side effects are quite severe, the chance of experiencing them are low, and they usually receded once the treatment is stopped. If you are losing hair on the top of your head, are serious about a trying hair growth products, and have the money to pay for it, this is definitely worth considering.

Rogaine Review: Does Rogaine Work?

One of the most popular hair growth products on the market today is Rogaine. The active ingredient is Minoxidil, and the product claims to help with Male Patter Baldness, by stimulating your hair follicles.  It comes in two forms – a foam and a solution. Both are applied in the same way, by parting your hair into rows, and massaging it into your scalp, both in the morning and the evening. The foam is the newest form, and is usually the preferred method. Rogaine only claims that this product will help with hair loss on the crown of the head, not hair loss at the temples. What are the possible side effects?
Scalp irritation, flaky scalp, irregular/fast heartbeat, chest pain, headaches.

Does it work?
According to a study done by Rogaine, 85% of men re-grew hair in 16 weeks, which sounds promising. The question is, does it really work?

Unfortunately, the answer is a somewhat vague yes and no. Based on the many reviews of people who have used Rogaine, the results are pretty hit and miss. There are users who are very happy with the results, sometimes as early as after 3 months using the product. However, there are many users who are very disappointed with the product. The major complaints are that hair re-growth often comes in as peach fuzz, and that they never receive true hair again. Peach fuzz is not a good replacement for regular hair, so does not make for a great option.
